Personal Experience

Alex has significant individual and team sports experience, as a handball player and judo players. He has also competed triathlons and semi-marathons at amateur level over the years, as well as running kayak and bike expeditions with his own company.

He got into ocean rowing in 2016 as a finalist for the first Atlantic crossing Romanian team and he’s been training, learning and planning continuously for it ever since, together with Vlad. He holds the Black Sea Crossing record from 2017 (11 days, 6 hours from Mangalia, Romania, to Batumi, Georgia, over 1,200 km) with a crew of 5. He was also part of the 2018 Portugal – Cuba expedition under Faroese flag, rowing to Gran Canaria in 13 days, over 1,300 km.

With more than 3,000 nautical miles rowed during training and expeditions, interacting with 12 rowing partners on different boats, Alex is among the most skilled and experienced skippers that could prepare you for the adventure of your life.
